Heather Wheeler, MS, Licensed Professional Counselor

Hello! My name is Heather Wheeler and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the states of Oregon. I hold a Master of Science degree in Counseling and Development from Texas Woman's University. I have experience with trauma counseling, sexual abuse, family and relationship violence, parenting, anxiety, depression, and suicidal ideation, among others.

At Healing heARTS Counseling, I focus on utilizing art and sandtray therapy techniques, to help clients who feel stuck with talk therapy or who want a more in-depth, creative experience. If you are not interested in art or sandtray therapy, and prefer a more traditional type of counseling, I will work with you to meet your goals in this way as well.
I generally accept clients ages 12 and up.

While I use many techniques from various counseling perspectives, the core perspective I share common beliefs with is Person-Centered Therapy. I believe all people to be unique and have good intentions; however, positive characteristics and healthy lifestyles can become obscured by strong defense mechanisms and painful experiences. Each individual has their own experiences in the world that no one else has had, and I value those experiences. I also believe that each individual’s culture, race, ethnicity, religion, sexual preference and family structure influence how they think, feel and respond to events. I accept and value all individuals without judgment, criticism or influence. I allow you as the client to lead sessions as I provide a safe, comfortable environment.

Samantha Fe, MA, Licensed Professional Counselor

Hello! My name is Sammi Fe and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Oregon.  I hold a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health from Antioch University.

I work with clients ages 14 and older, from an eclectic approach that integrates the use of somatic, mindfulness based and expressive arts trauma informed and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy intervention methods among others to meet the individual needs of clients. I have experience in working with clients in processing and overcoming life traumas, such as sexual abuse; anxiety; depression; postpartum depression; infant mental health; pain management, emotional eating; grief/loss; emotional dysregulation; and child/parent interactions.

My passion is to work with individuals and families by building internal resilience, resourcing and providing a nurturing environment that leads to healing and a more sound sense of self. When working with clients, I work from a holistic person-centered approach geared to supporting the individual needs of clients and help them achieve meaningful growth and change in their lives.

I am here to provide unconditional positive support while clients process their hardships and make meaning from their pain while helping them to integrate new awareness that leads to healing. I also support clients with discovering healthy coping skills and ways of thinking that allow them to nurture and deepen the relationship within themselves.

While often talk therapy can be supportive, some clients find themselves struggling to talk or gain deeper understanding that they are in search of. When this occurs, I work collaboratively with clients by guiding them through the use of alternative therapy approaches such as the use of somatic and creative process directives. These nonverbal treatment modalities help clients to express themselves creatively, physically and visually which in turn allows clients to gain insight and connect with themselves on a deeper level providing the ability to then verbally express themselves.
